Prior to joining ICR Westwicke, Maria was the Head of Investor Relations at Beyond Air, serving as the primary liaison to the global investment community. Over the last two years her responsibilities included leading the communications strategy by originating press releases, corporate presentations, managing the company website and social media, as well as preparing senior management for all public appearances. She also played a critical role in projects pertaining to Beyond Air’s business plan, such as helping the company secure financing to spin out the oncology franchise into the private affiliate, Beyond Cancer.

Prior to Beyond Air, Maria was on the biotech equity research team at Cantor Fitzgerald and Piper Jaffray (now Piper Sandler). She started her career in healthcare investment banking at Citigroup in New York. Maria holds a MHA from Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health, and a BS in neuroscience and BA in literary studies from the University of Texas at Dallas. She currently lives in the DFW area with her family.

Sean Leous

With over 20 years of experience in media relations, Sean is known for his strategic thinking, hands-on approach, relationship building and ability to deploy the full range of PR tools including the latest social media practices. He has worked across the board on: oncology, cardiology, obesity, auto-immune diseases, women’s health, orphan drugs, generics, vaccines, pain management, and infectious disease. He has an extensive background in U.S. healthcare policy and experience with regulatory agencies including the U.S. FDA and international regulatory groups. He has held senior positions at Financial Dynamics, Hill & Knowlton, and Burson-Marstellar, and has worked at boutique communications shops where he served as Chief Communications Officer and Managing Director of Public Relations and Corporate Communications.

During his career, Sean has directed pharmaceutical, biotech and medical device launches, conducted media tours and worked numerous media relations campaigns at professional medical and scientific conferences. He has written scripts for U.S. Congressional inquiries, directed multiple crisis communications programs including: negative data, product recalls, SEC investigations, activist shareholder actions, a pharmaceutical plant explosion, management changes and resignations and served as an on-record spokesperson for several small and micro-cap companies.

Sean has a BA in art history and French from State University of New York College at Potsdam. Sean is a Trustee of the Foundation Board of SUNY Potsdam.

Lauren McCormick

She helps manage all investor outreach through the coordination of conferences, non-deal road shows and investor days along with corporate communications by drafting press releases and managing earnings preparations.

Lauren’s responsibilities also include maintaining and creating investor presentations, analyst consensus models, institutional account profiles, websites and analyzing trends and companies in the healthcare sector.

Prior to joining ICR Westwicke, Lauren was an Investor Relations and Corporate Communications Associate at Synageva BioPharma Corp., a Boston-based biotechnology company. At Synageva, Lauren supported the executive management team in all investor relations activities and managed corporate branding. Lauren left Synageva after it was acquired by Alexion Pharmaceuticals, Inc. in 2015.

Lauren holds a BS in Business Administration from Marist College and lives in Boston, Massachusetts.

Mike Vallie, MBA

Mike has advised MedTech companies across a variety of subsectors, including: neurostimulation, robotics, mental health, oncology, diabetes, sleep apnea, cardiovascular implants, pain management, spine and orthopedics, ophthalmology, aesthetics, animal health, respiratory, and diagnostic testing.

In addition to public company Investor Relations, Mike has worked directly with management teams to support and execute a number of private company transactions, including: equity financings, debt financings, IPOs, and mergers.

Prior to joining ICR Westwicke, he worked within the Healthcare Corporate Financial Strategy Consulting group at AARP, where he managed the financial planning and analysis process for a portfolio of products, developed project valuation models, performed financial due diligence, maintained risk management dashboards, and provided management consulting services throughout the organization’s Healthcare Products and Services division. He also worked alongside industry leading healthcare firms to develop, monetize and optimize co-branded insurance and financial products. Before joining AARP, Mike spent two years at JHS, a medical supplies retailer, where he oversaw the company’s marketing strategy and pricing models, conducted competitive and industry research, and helped launch new product categories.

Mike received his MBA in Finance from The Robert H. Smith School of Business at the University of Maryland, and his BS from Costello College of Business at George Mason University.

He lives in Bethesda, Maryland with his wife and two children.

Jack Powell

During his more than 10 year tenure at ICR Westwicke, Jack has worked with a variety of public and private clients, including Alliqua BioMedical, Apyx Medical Corporation, Avedro, Bovie Medical Corporation, ConforMIS, GreatBatch Medical, Hansen Medical, Helius Medical Technologies, Hologic, K2M Group Holdings, Lumenis, Organogenesis, Rochester Medical, Strand Life Sciences, Synergetics, Tactile Medical, Teleflex, Urologix, Venaxis and Venus Concept.

Jack advises clients on a variety of strategic and tactical IR-related subjects, helping them to establish ‘best-in-class’ practices and programs. He works closely with client senior leadership teams on the development of corporate earnings call scripts, Q&A prep. materials, press releases focused on the institutional investor audience, investor presentations, detailed financial models and analyst consensus models.

Jack also conducts data-driven analyses of trends in the MedTech sub-sector and the equity capital markets landscape (e.g., earnings-related disclosure, company announcements, IPOs & follow-on offerings) to help clients identify strategic and financial ‘best practices.’ He possesses a detailed knowledge of the institutional investment landscape, and provides clients with related insights as needed. Like many at ICR Westwicke, Jack approaches investor relations from the perspective of an institutional equity investor, having trained under a former T. Rowe Price equity analyst for his first 5 years at the firm.

Jack holds a B.A. in Economics from Connecticut College and lives in Baltimore, Maryland with his wife, Sophie.

Jordan Kohnstam

During her time at ICR Westwicke, Jordan has worked closely with a number of private and public companies, focusing her efforts on in-depth research and data analysis, as well as assisting in the creation and execution of strategic investor relations plans.

Jordan’s responsibilities include the preparation of quarterly earnings materials, as well as the maintenance of investor presentations and analyst consensus models. She also plays an integral role in the planning and execution of public clients’ annual investor relations strategies, and has tackled the logistics and creation of materials for dozens of investor days. Over the last seven years, Jordan has been involved in all aspects of numerous initial public offerings and follow-on offerings.

Jordan received a BA in Economics & International Relations from Connecticut College in New London, Connecticut. She lives in Baltimore, Maryland with her husband.
