Michael Fox

Michael has provided communications counsel on more than 100 IPOs, scores of M&A transactions, numerous activist defense campaigns and countless corporate crises. He has advised clients across a broad range of industries including BP, McKesson, Dow Chemical, Armor Holdings, U.S. Tobacco, Denny’s, WebMD, Pepsico and Michaels Stores, among many others.

Prior to joining ICR in 2002, Michael was head of the US Corporate Communications Practice for Ogilvy PR Worldwide. His team’s work with BP in 2001 was recognized by PRWeek Magazine as one of the “20 Best Campaigns of All Time.” Prior to his career in corporate communications, Michael spent eight years working on Capitol Hill for a Member of Congress. He has run political campaigns at the federal, state and local levels.

Michael has authored numerous articles and is an active speaker and panelists on topics including crisis communications, data breach response, IPOs and shareholder activism.

Prior to founding Westwicke, LLC., Mark worked on Wall Street for over 17 years in a variety of senior positions in investment banking and equity capital markets. For the first six years of his career, he worked as a generalist in investment banking at Smith Barney, Citibank and Merrill Lynch.

In 1995, he accepted a position in the Health Care Investment Banking Group at Alex. Brown & Sons. In 1999, Mark joined the Equity Capital Markets Group to head Equity Origination for the Health Care sector. He was promoted to Managing Director in 2001. In 2004, Mark was recruited to Wachovia Corporation as a Managing Director and Head of Equity Origination for the Health Care and Technology industries.

During his career, Mark has worked on over 100 capital raising and strategic advisory transactions with an aggregate value of over $20 billion. In particular, he has extensive experience in originating, structuring and executing public and private equity transactions and advising companies on capital markets issues.

Over his career, Mark has worked with companies in all sectors of the healthcare industry including: MAKO Surgical, Hologic, TranS1, Vocera, IDX Systems, Trius Therapeutics, Digene, Array BioPharma, Evalve, Acclarent, Respironics, United Therapeutics, Health Care REIT and Province Healthcare.

Mark received his MBA from The Darden School and his BA in Economics and Computer Science from Colgate University. He lives in Baltimore, Maryland, with his wife and four children.

Bob East

Bob’s capital markets background, institutional knowledge and understanding of the buy side has been instrumental in helping several of ICR Westwicke’s healthcare services companies successfully complete their initial public offerings. Bob has also grown ICR Westwicke’s healthcare services practice to be one of the leading practices in the investor relations industry.

Prior to founding Westwicke, LLC., Bob worked on Wall Street in institutional sales for over 18 years. He began his career with Alex. Brown & Sons in 1988 and was promoted to Managing Director in 1999. In 2002, he moved to CIBC World Markets to open their Baltimore sales office. During his tenure at Alex Brown, Deutsche Bank and CIBC World Markets, he managed major institutional client relationships in New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, the Mid-Atlantic and the Midwest. Bob also served as a senior member of the Non-Deal Marketing Committee and Deal Marketing Committee at both Deutsche Bank and CIBC.

During his Wall Street career, Bob worked closely with management teams in executing a variety of public equity, equity-linked and privately placed equity transactions in many growth sectors. He has also led senior management teams on hundreds of non-deal road shows.

Bob received a BA in Finance from Loyola College in Baltimore. He lives in Baltimore, Maryland, with his wife and three children.
